‘Ote’a
3 to 5 minutes. ‘Ote’a Ensemble (3-6 dancers). ‘Ote’a Grand (6 or more dancers). Vahine and/or Tane. (13 years old and up).
Aparima
3 to 5 minutes. Minimum 6 dancers. vahine and/or tane
Mehura
Time limit – 3 to 5 minutes. Minimum 5 dancers. Vahine only
Drumming
Minimum 5 musicians. 5 minutes maximum. Traditional and/or contemporary using traditional Tahitian instruments (no technological implementation). Must include 5 of 9 pehe (drum beats) below in presentation: Pahae, Hitoto, Purata, Tiare Taporo, Samba, Bora Bora, Ue Ue, Paea, Titau

Costumes for groups should reflect the theme (tumu parau) e.g., color, props at your discretion including appropriate designs intended for a broad family audience.
In keeping with tradition, costumes should have the semblance to Tahiti and her islands. Use of natural materials is encouraged but can modify in line with their theme.
It is the group leader’s responsibility to reflect their groups’ high standard of excellence and integrity showcasing their best performance forward.

Videos may be positioned in various angles but continuous with the dancers in full view. No cut and edit allowed. Quality will be judged based on video submitted as is. Video will be checked for clarity, sound, and completion before it is submitted to the judges. Videos with poor quality will not be used and sender will be notified. It’s recommended to send your video ahead of the submission deadline in case resubmission is required. (No AI applications)
